The workshop will take place at the prestigious, purpose-built Conference Center (Centro Congressi) of University Federico II. The Center is located in a large, pedestrianized area along the bustling Naples promenade, offering an unparalleled blend of convenience and beauty. It is surrounded by numerous restaurants, world-famous pizzerias, cozy cafes (called BAR in Naples), and boasts a stunning and breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples, the Sorrento Coast, and the iconic Capri island. Hence, it can undoubtedly be considered the perfect backdrop for both professional engagement and relaxation.

The ground floor features two meeting rooms with 96 and 48 seats. The first floor, the heart of the Center, houses the Aula Magna, a spacious hall accommodating 168 seats, two big rooms for posters and vendors, and the restaurant room.

Additionally, the historical center of Naples, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, is just a stone throw away, inviting the attendees to immerse themselves in the rich cultural assets of this incredible city.

Welcome cocktail

The welcome cocktail will be held on the evening of September 24 at the historic Circolo Canottieri, a famous nautical club founded in 1914. Located just a few minutes from the Conference Center, the Circolo Canottieri is among the most renowned nautical institutions in Italy, celebrated for its rich history and contributions to sports and culture.

With a membership of around 1,000, it serves as a hub for sporting excellence, fostering a wide array of disciplines such as bridge, swimming, lifesaving, tennis, triathlon, sailing, and water polo. In particular, the water polo team has achieved national and international acclaim by gaining numerous titles and representing Italy in the major European competitions.

Beyond its athletic achievements, the Circolo Canottieri is a symbol of Neapolitan pride, hosting events that blend tradition, community, and passion for the sea.

Gala dinner

The gala dinner will take place on the evening of September 25 at Villa Doria d’Angri, a splendid neoclassical villa built in the 19th century by the distinguished Doria d’Angri noble family. Being located on the picturesque Posillipo hill, it offers a panoramic view of the city and the sparkling coastline of the Gulf of Naples.

This architectural masterpiece is well known for its elegant facades, intricate decorative details, and beautifully landscapted gardens, which provide an ambiance of timeless sophistication. The villa features an octagonal Chinese pagoda, designed by architect Antonio Francesconi, adding an exotic charm that contrasts harmoniously with the neoclassical architecture.

Steeped in history, Villa Doria d’Angri has hosted illustrious figures, including the composer Richard Wagner, who resided there in 1880. During his stay, Wagner worked on the Parsifal opera. The room he occupied is now referred to as the “Wagner Room”, commemorating his creative endeavors within its walls.

Today the villa serves as a venue for cultural and academic events. Its historical significance, coupled with its architectural location, ensures that the gala dinner will be an unforgettable experience.

A shuttle bus service will be available to reach Villa Doria d’Angri, which is approximately 3.7 km from the Conference Center.
